Udon Thani Province

Situated on Highway 1: Mittraphap Road from Bangkok to Mekong River and the border of Laos, with the train track, and the international airport, Udon Than is a hub of economic and logistic routes in the northeastern region of Thailand. The province is rich in historical, cultural, commercial, tourism, modern (shopping malls and arcade) and local aspects (museums, ethnic festivals, a famous fabric cloth village and markets, etc.) From the Udon Thani International Airport, people can directly reach more destinations in the North, Central and the South of Thailand.

Arts and Culture

UDRU students observe and experience Thai art and cultural ways especially those of the Northeastern (Isan region) in which Udon Thani is situated. All are exhibited through meeting and seeing humble, considerate and colorful Isan people, Isan food, arts and culture from in private life corners to in special public events all year round.

Dining

People in Udon Thani favor having sticky-rice with Isan dishes while dining places for Thai and other ethnic dishes are easy to find, ranging from street-food, food stalls to extravagant restaurants. Students will be nurtured with Thai food, Isan food (quite a hot dish made or cooked in thousands of recipes usually seasoned with the northeast-style fermented fish) and various ethnic foods as well. The city is also famous for good-tasting noodle shops. Many good fresh markets are conveniently located for ones who prefer cooking their meals.

Housing

We offer on-campus accommodation from dormitory rooms to hotel rooms; fan and air-conditioning.
Students with a long term stay favor staying at the campus dorms:
1. A four-berth room, fan 4,500 THB/semester/person
2. A four-berth room, air conditioned 7,000 THB/semester/person
* plus 300 THB/year for the key deposit

Language Center

UDRU Language Center provides academic services as organizing a language camp and training, international & cultural festivals and observers, language contests, a standardized testing service as TOEIC and others in the future. The staff are with Japanese, German, English and other language teaching backgrounds.

Library

UDRU provides campus libraries having extensive collections of books, journals, and databases on research and others and giving services with Internet access in a cozy and peaceful atmosphere.

Computer Center

UDRU has the computer center with efficient technical staff and computer labs available at requests for training and scheduled classrooms.

Athletics and Recreation

UDRU’s city campus and Sam Phrao campus comprises indoor and outdoor sport gyms and stadiums available for students who favor light or heavy workout. The campus is furnished with a soft-drink and coffee café, a convenient store, cafeterias, a post office, a stationary store, and shady space.

Health and Safety

UDRU provides a first-aid room with experienced medical staff, generic prescription drugs, and beds. Staying at on-campus accommodation is safe by 24-hour guarding and regulations. The city campus is a few minutes to the police station and hospital by public transportation. The semester fees paid include basic accident cause compensation.
