Udon Thani Rajabhat University aims to be one of the leading educational institutes in the Indo-China region on the basis of a university for the development and well-being of local communities via producing efficient graduates, local and international wisdom integrating, research, internationalization, and sustainability. And as being initially originated as a teacher training school, UDRU at present still actively encourages the standard production of educational manpower
History
UDRU was established in 1923 as Teacher Training School in Agriculture Udon Thani, which offered a two-year certificate program. Before the designation of university status in 2004, the school had been developed and transformed into Udon Thani Teachers’ Training School in 1932, and Udon Thani Teachers’ College in 1960 when being authorized to offer bachelor degree programs.
On February 14th, 1992. H. M. King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great graciously bestowed the new, prestigious name Rajabhat Institute (Rajabhat: People of the King) to teachers’ colleges nationwide, together with his personal royal seal as the university emblem.
Since 1923 and after 2004, UDRU has been known as one of the fast-growing institutes.
